Marathon Ally McBeal

Here’s an article to make funnier your Ally McBeal marathon (yes, it’s possible !). The idea is to look for for some repetitive things. I listed them for you and you can use them either to test your memory or to make a drinking game out of it (just one sip at the time, or else it’ll be very hard very soon). There is no major spoiler on this article as long as you’re only reading the list of the season you are currently watching 😉

Season 1

Ally dances or hears music in her own head.
2. John is singing/whistling (tatata).
3. Richard (only Richard) says « Bygones ».
4. Elaine uses the word « Snappish ». You won’t grow tired of it.
5. Renee is helping Ally – giving her love advice (poor Renee, that’s a hard work).
6. Whipper is giving her decision about a case (sometimes they do work).
7. Billy looks at Ally (have fun with this one).
8. Someone else than Vonda Shepard is singing.
9. You can see the twins on screen (and you should learn their dance moves)
10. Someone hears something he shouldn’t hear in the unisex toilets.

Season 2

Ally laughes (including the time she’s laughing at herself).
2. John interrupts voluntarily (or not) another lawyer.
3. Richard (only Richard) says « Bygones ». (no, it won’t change)
4. Someone interrupts Elaine, or ask her to shut up, or is so violent to her that she shuts up anyway.
5. Renee is frowning.
6. Ling growls (yes, growls).
7. Georgia & Billy are kissing.
8. Nell catches John or Ally in their own world, and she prefers not knowing what’s happening.
9. Someone says « Objection » (well, it’s starting to be hard for a drinking game)
10. Someone hears something he shouldn’t hear in the unisex toilets.

Season 3

Ally changed her haircut in between the episodes (or between two scenes of the same episode for that matter)
2. Someone is referring to John by calling him « the biscuit ».
3. Richard (only Richard) says « Bygones ». (yes, it may change now that he is not saying it as often as he used to)
4. Elaine sings or dances.
5. Renee & Georgia are on the same room.
6. Ling is doing something altruist (yes, it happens)
7. Nell acts or says something really… bitchy. There is no other word, sorry, it’s even on the script at some point.
8. Someone is saying « love »… or « sex », have fun !
9. Someone is hallucinating something (and you can see it too).
10. Someone hears something he shouldn’t hear (in the unisex toilets).

Season 4

Ally is talking to herself (yes it includes her weird voice over and every time she is speaking to her hallucinations).
2. Someone is saying John’s last name (Cage).
3. Richard says something homophobic or sexist. It’s almost each time he speaks, so limit yourself at once per scene.
4. Elaine & Renee are on the same room (don’t forget that one).
5. Ling & Nell are talking to each other.
6. Larry doesn’t wear his glasses (unless you prefer play this game when he wears them)
7. Someone screams (including each argument, weird sounds and “poop”)
8. Someone is saying « love »… or « sex », have fun !
9. You recognize a famous singer or actor who was made famous by another TV show afterwards (*cough* Desperate Housewives *cough*)
10. Someone hears something he shouldn’t hear (in the unisex toilets).

Season 5

Ally says « uh ». It’s an easy one (to forget).
2. John moves his hand(s) to ask someone to speak.
3. Richard says « Next up ».
4. A camera is seen on screen.
5. One of the main character sings.
6. Someone is holding Ally’s hand, Ally’s holding someone’s hand.
7. A judge asks « What say you ? »
9. You recognize a famous singer or actor who was made famous by another TV show afterwards (*cough* Nip/Tuck *cough*)
9. A non-important character seen in a previous episode is coming back (especially among the clients).
10. An actor is leaving the show (aka the moment when you realised an actor left the show).
